The National High School Gymnastics Association recently held its Senior Showcase Invitational in Fort Myers, Florida and Massachusetts finished third in the team portion.
Several Boston Herald All-Scholastics excelled in various events. Winthrop's Christa Vaccaro was the top local in the All-Around, finishing sixth (36.800). She also finished fifth in the vault (9.380).
Ashland's Chloe Covell, who competed as part of a Medfield/Ashland/Dover-Sherborn co-op team, placed in the top five in two different events. Covell tied for third in the vault (9.425) and second in the floor exercise (9.500).
Central Catholic's Keara O'Loughlin was fifth in the beam (9.375), while Andover's Kaitlyn McDonald was fifth in the bars (9.30). Shrewsbury standout Julia Schafer took a third in the bars (9.40).
