Late last season, Everett's John DiBiaso became the fourth football coach in state history to win 300 games.
Earlier this evening, DiBiaso reached another milestone as he became the first coach in state history to amass 300 football wins and 500 basketball wins as the Crimson Tide advanced to the Division 1 North quarterfinals with a 66-46 victory over Chelmsford. Everett (20-1) will face an old Greater Boston League foe in Waltham for the right to get to the sectional semifinals.
The Lions gave the Crimson Tide some fits in the opening half, keeping it close throughout. But in the second half, two-time Herald All-Scholastic Ghared Boyce took over, finishing with 30 points.
DiBiaso is coaching basketball at Everett for the final season as he leaving the school after 39 years to coach football at Catholic Memorial.
