The National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association Awards Committee announced that former Weston swimming coach and current MIAA boys swimming tournament director Peter Foley as well as current Weston swimming coach Claude Valle will be receiving the prestigious NISCA Hall of Fame Award at its annual banquet this Saturday in Minneapolis.
Foley served as the head coach at Weston from 1972 to 2007 and amassed 605 dual-meet wins (495 with the boys team, 110 with the girls team), 22 Dual County League and 18 state championships. He coached 23 high school All-Americans and 16 Academic All-Americans.
Valle has been involved with the Weston High program for 30 years, the last 11 as head coach. This past season Valle guided the Wildcats to a second-place finish in the Div. 2 state meet. He is a member of the Massachusetts Swimming Hall of Fame.
