BC High and UMass-Boston will host a dedication of its new baseball field this Friday at 3 p.m.. The park has been named Monan Park in honor of J. Donald Monan, SJ to honor his outstanding educational leadership, vision and commitment to the City of Boston.
The ballpark was designed with Fenway Park in mind and includes fencing, bullpens, warning track, batter’s eye, full-sized dugouts and batting cages. The ballpark seats 500 and comes equipped with lighting for night games.
In addition to hosting BC High and UMass-Boston, the long-range goal this summer will host the 2016 Bay State Summer Games Baseball Showcase, the Boston Urban Baseball Showcase, and the Massachusetts vs. Connecticut Junior All-Star Game.
