Xaverian head football coach Charlie Stevenson was named the New England Patriots High School Coach of the Week after earning his 200th career win last week at Brockton.
Stevenson became just the 51st coach in state history to reach the coveted milestone. The head coach at the school since 1993, Stevenson has an overall record of 200-61-1 and has led seven teams to Super Bwl titles.
Patriots and Pro Football Hall of Fame linebacker Andre Tippett, now the team’s executive director of community affairs, presented the Hawks' football program with a $1,000 donation on behalf of the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation, in honor of Stevenson.
“We are honored to recognize Coach Stevenson this week as he has reached an incredible career milestone,” Tippett said. “He has compiled a remarkable resume over the years at the head of the Xaverian football program, and with the Hawks already off to an impressive start in 2016, we wish them the best of luck as they contend for yet another title this season.”
At the conclusion of the fall, one of the weekly winners will be named the New England Patriots High School Coach of the Year and will receive a $2,000 contribution towards the school’s football program.
